Mike Bibby's departure just jumpstarted Sacramento's massive rebuilding project.
Just yesterday, the Sacramento Kings basketball traded starting point guard Mike Bibby to the Atlanta Hawks for Anthony Johnson, 2007 first-round pick Shelden Williams, backup point guard Tyronn Lue, veteran forward Lorenzen Wright, and a 2008 second-round pick.
Kings President Geoff Petrie was optimistic of the trade, ...

Say it to yourself a few times.
"Pinky"
"Pinky"
Pin-ky"
Once, when I was in college, I went to this party with my two best girl friends and we got really drunk and, well, one thing led to another and....(next morning over cup of lukewarm coffee) "you guys have to PINKY-SWEAR you will never tell anyone what happened last night!" And that was that...the most commital of all swears, the important and ...

What a day, what a weekend for all true Neanderthal sports fanatics. Basketball, fights and racing all you can ask for if you are an adrenalin junky. Unless of course you think you have what it takes to check out the newest edition of Walker's Rants. That's right it's time to man up, Walker's Rants are a go.
Roger Clemens shut up and sit down...
Well done Ryan Newman, if only Kurt Busch didn't have ...

I wrote this piece in September, changed a few things, commented on others:
As we look at the end of the Minnesota Twins' 2007 season, there are some bright spots that we hope will carry over. Some things are near locks such as Jason Kubel's strong finish has probably assured him the 2008 opening day start in LF (Actually will go to Delmon Young and Kubel will be pushed to platoon DH duty with Craig ...

I'm baaaack! It's been a long, cold offseason, but my World Series Champs t-shirt has kept me warm. And before you ask, I'm not a Pats fan, so please keep your 18-1 anti-Boston mocking far away from here.
Forthcoming after this 2008 inaugural edition of Dead Soxy will be my American and National League previews! Ahh, it's good to be back. Without further ado...

I broke my coffee mug this morning. Not just any mug, but my favorite. The handle had a significant chip in it and was clearly ready to fall, but I didn't look at the signs. All of it was in front of my eyes and I just ignored it. And then it broke.
Of course, I'm lying to you, I actually threw my mug against the wall, coffee and all, partly with a bad taste in my mouth, partly because my coffee ...

Most all of the San Francisco Giants' 40-man roster had arrived in camp Monday, with the first full squad workout of the spring scheduled for Tuesday morning. Not much new news to talk about yet, but that should change Tuesday when the whole calvary goes to work. Most of the talk around the camp so far has been about the Giants' impending second base battle as well as their new philosophy on running ...

Two minutes for kissing...
The Penguins' recent 4-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres is a prime example of the cliche player statement of "a few bounces going our way."
If the first period was to be the preview for the remainder of the game, then the Penguins were on the verge of being completely and utterly outplayed. Try as they may, the Penguins couldn't clear the puck from their zone. By the ...

I'm hardly ever one to really go about spreading unsupported rumors. But with the trade deadline approaching and injuries mounting, it's only right to at least mention what is surrounding the Pens right now. Participate in the trade poll at Pensburgh.com.
Peter Forsberg No. No. No. According to everyone under the sun, he has declined any such invitation to the Penguins, Rangers and Canadiens. The ...
