That one sentence thing was a tiny slice of heaven recapping the New Year's Day bowl snoozers, so we'll give it go in Ballin' until we tire of it.

Boston 97, Houston 91: Surprise of the night, besides, of course, the fact that Tracy McGrady didn't play and he's hurt again - Ray Allen and Paul Pierce each logged more than 40 minutes and neither committed a foul.

Dallas 121, Golden State 99: Dirk avenged last season's playoff loss with a 29 points, and the Mavs blew open a moderately close game in the fourth quarter to pull away; we very much enjoyed this Mark Cuban story.

New Jersey 96, Orlando 95: The Nets were trailing big, so they turned to the uninspiring bench of 53-year-old Darrell Armstrong, Bostjan Nachbar, Malik Allen, and Jason Collins; naturally, those guys shoot the lights out (48 points!), and the Nets departed Disneyworld with their fifth win in six games.

Cleveland 98, Atlanta 94: LeBron James, the best player not only in the history of basketball, but of all sports - including cricket - scored 32 of his 36 points in the second half, and Larry Hughes made a clutch shot (making bloggers happy!) in the victory.

Chicago 109, Charlotte 97: Don't tell anyone, but Joakim Noah was actually productive (17 points in 18 minutes!) and the Bulls have won three of four.
