Coach Nellie - unhappy with the amount of minutes Baron "Boom Dizzy-Go Dumb Davis" is racking up - decided the team needed a back-up point gaurd, due to the injury/season ending surgery to PG Troy Hudson. So, what does the front office do? Sign another D-League player. But honestly, this time I actully have a positive attitude going into his 10-day contract. Warriors signed PG, C.J. Watson, and he arrived Monday evening just in time for Wednesdays game against Portland. Watson, standing at a mighty 6'2", is averaging 26.4pts, 5.3rebs, and 5.3assts with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. This season he is shooting 51% from the field, 40% behind the arc, and 90% from the charity stripe. He, like fellow D-League proven player Kelenna Azubuike, has a lot of upside. Kelenna, who played against Watson as a member of SEC rival Kentucky, mentioned that Watson was a solid player, he handles the ball well, and is a good decision maker. I'm sure, I'm not the only Warrior hopefull praying to James Naismith, that he rises above the D-League player reputations and becomes an above average player in the NBA, much like homie Buike. We shall see this coming Wednesday! P.S. IF, and that's a very pessimistic "IF", Watson does not work out. There are rumors swirling around that the Warriors might sign PG Gary "The Glove" Payton out of retirement. Bay Area Native! Oakland, baby! He WAS my favorite player as a SuperSonic behind the all mighty Detlef Schrempf. So, Mully definitely gets my vote as Manager of the Year if he pulls that off.
