Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome threw cold water on the idea today, though.
"We have not had one meeting to discuss any personnel on our team or anyone else's team. We've been very busy hiring assistant coaches."
That's probably for the best. Before the Ravens start discussing a trade for McNabb or Derek Anderson, another rumored target, they need to figure out if there's a quarterback that catches their fancy in the draft. With the eighth pick they should be in position to pick one up if they so desire and a move for either veteran would cost them that pick, at the very least.
While bringing in a rookie would likely keep the offense on the stagnant side in 2008, it would be better than brin...

The Baltimore Ravens are one of the 31 teams trying to supplant the Giants as NFL Champions next season. One of the things keeping them from being a serious contender to the crown is their lack of a quality quarterback. Over the weekend, FanHouser Ryan Wilson passed along Chris Mortensen's claim that the team was looking to make a deal for Donovan McNabb. It seems plausible on its face. McNabb can still play at a high level and the Ravens just hired former Eagle assistant John Harbaugh to be their head coach.Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome threw cold water on the idea today, though.
