It has been a year of great progress and great individual performances for our beloved Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The team won its last game against one of our traditional rivals, splitting the season series. With 66 wins, our Rays have improved their win total from a year ago by nearly 10%, and posted the 5th best record in franchise history.

El Gato Del Crimen Carlos Pena has set new Rays single-season marks for home runs (46 — 12 more than the previous record), RBI (121 — 4 more) and bases on balls.

Carl Crawford set the Rays single-season mark for batting average (.315 — 4 points better than Aubrey Huff in ‘03).

Scott Kazmir currently leads the Major Leagues in strikeouts with 239.

But here's where the Rockies-Padres playoff comes into play.

The playoff counts as the 163rd regular season game, and Jake Peavy will start for the Padres.

Peavy is currently 3rd on the K list with 234. Therefore, we must all hope and pray that the Rockies strike out no more than 4 times against Peavy in tomorrow's playoff.

Plus, we all hate the Padres for ushering in this awful new era of generic Walmart uniforms. Go Rox!
